Approved Higher Technical Qualifications

Higher Technical Qualifications are aligned to occupational standards. To be approved, a Higher Technical Qualification must ensure a person can demonstrate they have attained as many of the outcomes set out in the standard(s) as may reasonably be expected to be attained through a course of education.

The Higher Technical Qualifications currently approved by IfATE are set out below. All approved Higher Technical Qualifications must continue to meet all IfATE's approval criteria, including the requirement to be recognised/registered with Ofqual and the Office for Students. IfATE may review qualifications at any time, and may withdraw approval following such a review, if it considers that any of the approvals criteria are no longer met or in any of the other circumstances set out in the Terms and Conditions.

IfATE must publish information indicating that an HTQ has been approved (or withdrawn) and maintain the below list of approved HTQs.

In line with the Skills Act, HTQs cannot lead to the issuing of a technical education certificate (a T Level certificate).
